Live Second…Again

Well much like the book “Not A Fan” the devotional “Live Second” didnt take off well. I myself stalled out at Week 23. However the actually involvement probably slowed down around Week 10.

A few of us have the book and hoped to start the year long devotional in January. Hope your guys journey went better then mine. If any want to participate with me that’s great and I will be starting again from week 1 and doing it right! So hope to hear how Gods working in your life through this devotional.

Book Club Redemption?

So about 4 months ago a few of us decided to start reading “Not A Fan” with the intention of discussion thru this website, at our meetings, or perhaps to have a separate meeting. Well since the last post was from Chapter 5 in April I don’t think it went very well.

As I’m sure you may have noticed with more post recently that we are trying to bring back some of the discussion this group had on a weekly basis thru the website and at our meetings. So hit me up with some of your feedback on the “book club.”

Try again?

If so what needs to change so it can be productive and lead us to a closer relationship with others and Christ.

Bad book?

Format?

Need it’s own meeting time? Maybe half hour before normal time?

Or life just got busy for us all myself included?

Or book club is not a good idea maybe we should try….

Discussion Topic for July 28-Aug 5

I came across this author through a link on Facebook. I liked a couple of his posts, and thought it might be a good conversation starter. For a time period our group was adding new people constantly, and that made it difficult to spend much time talking. At this point everyone knows everyone, and I don’t think any one person is going to feel slighted if they don’t get to small talk with every single person on any given Monday.

On the other hand, I DO think we might be cheating ourselves if we don’t avail ourselves of the opportunity that we have to grow through discussion of topics. The best topic would be the Bible, but unfortunately, I’m still a little behind on things. I thought I would throw this link out, whomever has time can read over it, we can talk a bit about it, and ideally those of us with strong convictions about certain points can roll in next week with some scripture.
